Black Friday is the name given to September 8, 1978, and the shootings in Jaleh Square in Tehran, Iran. The deaths and the reaction to them have been described as a pivotal event in the Iranian Revolution when any “hope for compromise” between the protest movement and Mohammad Reza Shah’s regime was extinguished.

Killing German university student during the demonstration against
shah of Iran in West Berlin
On June 2, 1967, Benno Ohnesorg participated in a student protest held near the Deutsche Oper in opposition to the state visit of Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
The protest tued violent after pro-Shah demonstrators, including agents of the Shah's intelligence service, began to battling with students and the police overreacted, employing brutal tactics in their attempts to control the crowd.In the ensuing tumult, the demonstration dispersed into the side streets.
